A project-based course that takes you from your very first terraform apply to a full CI/CD pipeline — building one real Azure web app, entirely as code. No prior Terraform experience needed.
10 sessions × 2h · Azure + GitHub providers · for engineers & sysadmins
If you're comfortable in a terminal and tired of clicking through cloud portals, this is your on-ramp to Infrastructure as Code.
Move your infrastructure into code and pull requests, right next to the app you already ship.
Trade click-ops for repeatable, reviewable, version-controlled infrastructure you can trust.
Standardize how your team provisions and delivers cloud, with modules and CI/CD baked in.
You join a platform team. Terraform provisions your Git repository on day one — then you build, secure, import, modularize and continuously deliver a real Azure web application from that same repo. Nothing is throwaway.
Workflow, state, variables & iteration on the GitHub provider — zero cloud cost.
Remote state backend, authentication, and your first real Azure infrastructure.
Data sources, lifecycle, importing existing resources and catching drift.
Refactor into modules, then deliver through a scanned pull-request pipeline.
You leave with the skills — and a complete, modular, CI/CD-delivered Azure environment in your own repository.
Each 2-hour session pairs focused theory and live demos with a hands-on lab on your own project.
What IaC is, HCL, providers, and the core workflow.
CLI, providers, resources, dependencies and state.
Inputs, precedence, validation, locals and outputs.
count, for_each and for expressions — stay DRY.
Remote state, the azurerm backend, and authentication.
azurerm patterns, reading docs, naming, tags, networking.
Data sources, depends_on, dynamic blocks, lifecycle.
Brownfield import, state surgery and drift.
Structure, registry, private sharing and versioning.
Checkov, the PR workflow, disposable envs and drift.
No four-hour lectures. Every session is short bursts of theory, live demos, then you at the keyboard.
The concepts, shown in real code you can follow along with.
Reset, then back to it.
The second concept block, building on the first.
You extend your own project — the through-line of the whole course.
Not disconnected snippets — a single Azure app you build, refactor and ship end to end.
Deep on the azurerm provider, with GitHub used early so you learn cost-free.
Plan files, state, pull requests and security scanning — how teams really work.

No. The course starts from your first commands and builds up. You should be comfortable using a terminal and have a basic grasp of cloud concepts.
The first sessions use the GitHub provider at zero cost. For the Azure sessions you'll use a subscription — we cover setup, and a shared training subscription can be arranged for private cohorts.
Terraform, the GitHub CLI, the Azure CLI and a code editor. There's a short setup guide you complete before session one — about 15 minutes.
Yes — all decks, step-by-step labs and demo code are yours to keep, and you finish with a complete project in your own repository.
Absolutely. Private and team cohorts can be scheduled and tailored. Get in touch for a quote.
